is it to late to fish topwater for bass?
is fall to late for topwater bass lures like weedless frog and hula popper
NO! Fall is prime time i think for top water lures, especially prop baits like the heddon baby torpedo, and the crippled killer. Night fishing with top waters in fall is really fun, and very affective. The big small mouth in my picture there, came just a few nights ago, just after sunset while i was casting a white crippled killer in 2ft of water, that ol' girl hit like a ton of bricks. Just cast them out reel them about 2ft and pause, then reel them another 2ft. repeat that all the way back to the boat/shore. Dont set the hook until you feel the fish on the end of your line. Fish are very aggressive during the fall. They are gorging themselves for the winter. I have watched bass race from 20 ft away just to smack a top water lure during the fall. So tie on a topwater and hang on tight! Good Luck!
